Who is responsible for this information

Liam Brown, trading as FORGE, is responsible for the personal information submitted through the FORGE website enquiry form.

Information we collect

The FORGE contact form collects the following information when you choose to submit an enquiry:

• Name
• Company name
• Email address
• Phone number, if provided
• Current website address, if provided
• Service you are interested in
• Details of your enquiry
• Preferred contact method

Basic technical information, such as your IP address and browser details, may also be processed automatically by the website hosting provider and the form provider as part of delivering and securing the website and form. This happens as a normal part of how websites and web forms operate, rather than through deliberate collection by FORGE.

Please do not include passwords, payment information, health information, confidential credentials or other sensitive personal information in the enquiry form.

Why we use this information

Enquiry information is used to:

• review and respond to your enquiry
• understand the business problem you have described
• decide whether FORGE may be a suitable fit
• discuss possible work with you
• maintain a reasonable record of the business conversation

Enquiry information is not currently used for email marketing, newsletters, advertising audiences, behavioural profiling or automated decision-making.

Lawful basis

FORGE intends to handle genuine business enquiries where this is necessary to respond to your request, consider whether FORGE may be able to help, and take the steps you ask for before potentially entering into a business arrangement.

Where FORGE needs to keep a reasonable record of genuine business communications, this is generally considered a legitimate interest.

Form provider — Basin

The website enquiry form is processed through Basin (usebasin.com), a third-party form-handling service. When you submit the form, your enquiry is sent to Basin so that it can be delivered and made available to FORGE.

FORGE does not control where Basin stores or processes this information, and this notice does not claim any specific Basin data-centre location, certification or contractual guarantee. Basin’s own privacy and data-handling practices are described on their website.

Hosting — Vercel

The FORGE website is intended to be hosted through Vercel. Vercel provides the underlying infrastructure that serves the website and processes requests made to it.

This notice does not make guarantees about hosting security, availability or the exact location of servers, since these are managed by Vercel as the hosting provider.

Retention

Enquiry information will normally be retained for up to 12 months after the last meaningful contact, so that FORGE can manage the enquiry and refer back to relevant business conversations. Information may be deleted sooner when it is no longer needed. If an enquiry develops into a client relationship, relevant records may be retained separately for appropriate business, contractual, accounting or legal purposes.

This is FORGE’s intended approach to retention. Basin and Vercel may apply their own separate retention periods to information that passes through their systems, and those are not controlled by FORGE.

Sharing and service providers

Enquiry information may be processed by the service providers FORGE relies on to operate the website and enquiry form, currently Basin and the website hosting provider (Vercel).

Information may also need to be disclosed where required by law, or where reasonably necessary to establish, exercise or protect a legal right.

FORGE does not intend to sell personal information, and does not currently share enquiry information with marketing platforms, analytics companies or advertisers.

International processing

Some of the service providers FORGE relies on, including Basin and Vercel, may process information outside the United Kingdom as part of their normal operation.

This notice does not describe specific international transfer safeguards or legal arrangements, since these depend on each provider’s own practices and contractual terms. Provider practices should be reviewed as part of a fuller legal review before relying on this notice formally.

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances and the law that applies, you may have rights in relation to the personal information FORGE holds about you. These can include rights to:
